Greetings, Singapore Judo Federation hope everyone is fine. As per SJF calendar 2024 the Dan Grading Exercise is on schedule for July 14th.

I Believe everyone has prepared well for the coming Dan grading. SJF strongly encourages your members who are ready and to register for the Black Belt Grading – 1st Dan to 3rd Dan only.

Kindly see attached the 2024 SJF – Kodokan Dan Grading Exercise Information and enclosed both
the SJF / Kodokan Application Forms for your submission.

Look forward to hearing and receiving the application forms soon.

This is Ryan Goh, the high performance manager for SJF.

SJF is hosting an open mat session on the 1st of May 2024 (Wednesday), and extends a warm invitation to members of your school or judo club to join us for a fun and enriching session of Judo. Interested participants must be 4th Kyu (Orange belt) and above. Dear Affiliated Clubs,

I hope this message finds you in high spirits! 🌟 I have some exciting news to share regarding our judo officiating opportunities.

**Application Details:**

– **Deadline:** January 15th, 2024

– **How to Apply:** Reply with the provided Excel sheet

**Requirements:**

Calling all refs with a minimum of 1st Kyu and above! If you’re already a judo ref, join us for a refresher—it’s about leveling up together!

**Registration Fee**

– New Applicants: $60

– Existing Referees: $50

**Examination Dates:**

– **Theory Session:** Friday, January 26th, 2024, 7:30 PM at the Singapore Judo Federation office

– **Practical Exams:** January 27th and 28th, 2024, at the Kyu Grade Championship. Let’s bring the judo heat to Heartbeat Bedok!

  1. Kodokan Kata Seminar / Workshop 2023

Dear Affiliated Clubs, Schools and Coaches,

The Singapore Judo Federation is organizing a Kodokan Kata Seminar / Workshop in December. The Kata Seminar is for all affiliated clubs and schools whose judokas are interested to study and improve the kata skills, they can participate in and are strongly encouraged to register for the event. Also, for those who need to fine tune and prepare for the Dan grading.

Please see below for the details:


Kata workshop conducted by:  Sensei Shinro FUJITA , Kodokan 8th Dan
 
Date:  15th Dec 2023, (Friday)       –  Nage No Kata

           16th Dec 2023, (Saturday)   –  Nage No Kata / Katame No Kata
           17th Dec 2023, (Sunday)      –  Nage No Kata / Katame No Kata 

Time / Venue :  Fri  – 1900 h – 2130 h (2.5hrs)          at SJF Premises

                         Sat  – 0900 h – 1200 h (3hrs)             at SJF Premises 
                         Sun – 0900 h – 1200h  (3hrs)             at SJF Premises

Minimum Grade: Blue Belt (2nd Kyu)
Fee:  No Cost


For coaches who have the NROC, you can clock for the Education hours.

 
Kindly register through your clubs by 30th Nov 2023 (Thur) at 1700 hr via email for SJF preparation of the event. Please see attached 2023 Kata Seminar / workshop form for your submission. Late submission will not be entertained.

2. Dan Candidates practice 2023

Dear President of Affiliates clubs,

DAN Grading
            Singapore Judo Federation is pleased to inform that the SJF dojo will be opening to  Dan candidates to practice and familiarize their KATA for the Dan grading. SJF strongly encourages the Dan Candidates to register for the training session. These KATA (Nage No Kata and Katame No Kata) practice sessions are to assist you with the steps, procedures and fine tune the skills for your coming Dan grading.

Following will be two dates on Friday only at 7 – 9.30pm, open for practices :

1.  24/11/2023 

2.  01/12/2023

Please note  the Dan candidates must with a pair (Tori/Uke) or a training partner be nominated through their club. Your club only can submit the nomination form attached by 17th Nov 2023, Friday.

The participants / candidates who are not available on the dates can practice at their own club too.
